How to find your child’s screen time and save account data
Screen-time reports and account downloads can show how much your child used each app. Here’s where to find them. Menus change from time to time, so the names may differ slightly.
Quick answer
On iPhone, open Settings → Screen Time → See All App & Website Activity. On Android, open Settings → Digital Wellbeing. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube also show time spent in their settings. To save account data, use each app’s “Download your information” or “Download your data” option before any account is deleted.
Find screen time
iPhone or iPad
Settings → Screen Time → See All App & Website Activity. Switch between Day and Week. If your child’s device is in your Family Sharing group, you can see it from your own phone under Screen Time.
Android
Settings → Digital Wellbeing & parental controls. If your child’s account is managed with Google Family Link, open Family Link to see app activity.
Profile → menu → Your activity → Time spent.
TikTok
Profile → menu → Settings and privacy → Screen time.
YouTube
Profile picture → Time watched.
Download account data
Do this before closing or deleting any account. Downloads can take a few days to be ready.
Instagram and Facebook
Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information.
TikTok
Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data.
Snapchat
Settings → My Data.
YouTube (Google)
Use Google Takeout at takeout.google.com and select YouTube.
Discord
User Settings → Data & Privacy → Request all of my data.
Keep it safe
Save the files somewhere secure. Please don’t send them through this website; if your case moves forward, the lawyers give you a secure way to share them. Next: use the screen time calculator and the evidence checklist.
